Summary of the contracting process

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has concluded a procurement process for the "Supply of Equipment for HMCG's Counter Pollution and Salvage Team," classified under the industry category of electrical machinery, apparatus, equipment, and consumables; lighting (CPV 31000000). This process is essential for maintaining the operational capability of the UK's pollution response infrastructure. The procurement method was open, facilitating broad participation, and involved multiple lots, each focusing on different types of equipment ranging from hybrid generators to heavy-duty inflatable offshore oil containment booms. The procurement stage is complete, with contracts awarded to various suppliers, including Prolectric Services Limited and Bond Horizons Ltd. Key dates include contract signings in December 2024, following a tender period that ended on 5th December 2024. The delivery of equipment is expected across several strategic locations within the UK.

This tender creates significant opportunities for businesses specialising in electrical and marine equipment by providing a platform to supply essential goods to a reputable national agency. Companies with expertise in generators, lighting rigs, marine salvage, and containment solutions, particularly those recognised as SMEs, would find these lots well-suited to their capabilities, as demonstrated by the awarded contracts. This procurement is part of an ongoing replacement programme, which indicates potential continued opportunities for business growth through renewals and additional call-off contracts subject to ongoing funding, ensuring longitudinal engagement with the MCA.
