Summary of the contracting process

The City of Doncaster Council (CDC) has concluded the tendering process for its Legal Services Panel Framework 2025, falling under the industry category of legal services (CPV 79100000). The framework agreement, valid from 11th February 2025 to 3rd February 2028, with an optional additional 12-month extension, primarily aims to meet the legal advisory requirements of CDC and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA). The procurement method was an open procedure, and the framework was divided into two lots: General Legal Services and Adult Care Legal Services. Both lots attracted numerous electronic bids with significant interest from suppliers.

This framework agreement presents substantial business growth opportunities, especially for large legal advisory firms. Firms specialising in either general legal services or adult care legal services are well-suited to deliver the required expertise. Notable awards under this framework were secured by leading legal firms including Geldards LLP, Ward Hadaway LLP, Sharpe Pritchard LLP, Weightmans LLP, and Browne Jacobson LLP. The multiple lots and the flexible framework structure open up consistent work streams and direct orders from both CDC and SYMCA, critical for legal firms looking to solidify their presence and expand their service delivery within the public sector.
