Summary of the contracting process

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking providers for the "Supply of Emergency Hormonal Contraception" as part of their ongoing public health services. The tender falls under the family-planning services industry category and is aimed to be delivered in the regions of UKF15 and UKF16. The procurement is currently in the planning and tendering stages, with a tender submission deadline of 28 January 2025. The service's total value is estimated at £500,000, with the contract period ending on 31 March 2030. The council requires providers to be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and trained appropriately to supply Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) free of charge to eligible women.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses that specialise in pharmaceutical services and those registered with the GPhC to expand their operations within the public health sector. Smaller community pharmacies can particularly benefit from this contract by providing both EHC and optionally free condoms as part of their service. The procurement method supports both electronic and written submissions, ensuring a broad range of providers can participate. By partnering with Nottinghamshire County Council, businesses can contribute to crucial public health initiatives, gain long-term stability through a multi-year contract, and enhance their service offering.
