Summary of the contracting process

NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board has completed the procurement process for an ADHD specialist provider to deliver shared care for medications across the Northeast Sector (NES), including Bury, Oldham, and HMR localities. This urgent contract award, valued at £290,900, is in response to the absence of a commissioned service provider and the high clinical risk to patients requiring ongoing medication reviews. The contract spans from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 and was awarded following a limited procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

The awarded contract, handled by Optimise Healthcare Group, represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in health services, particularly those in psychiatric or psychological services. The specialised nature of this ADHD care service, which includes routine medication reviews necessary for safe prescribing, makes it an ideal fit for businesses with expertise in managing high-risk clinical populations and those skilled in collaborative care models with primary and specialist health providers. This contract can also open doors for firms looking to establish or expand their presence in the NHS healthcare sector in the UK.

Notice Title

ADHD specialist provider for shared care for medications across Northeast Sector (NES)

Notice Description

An Urgent Award has been made for an ADHD specialist provider for shared care for medications across Northeast Sector (NES) as there is currently no commissioned service provider in place across Bury Oldham and HMR localities to support a cohort of patients with ADHD who require medication under shared care arrangements with Primary care and the provider, An urgent award is required to maintain continuity of care for the patients currently in titration or under shared care. There is a high clinical risk to patients whom require ongoing medication reviews and assessments.
