Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Sussex Integrated Care Board has completed the awarding of a contract for Community Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS) services in Sussex under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The contract is defined as a Medical Imaging Service within the health sector, classified under CPV code 85150000. The procurement process, a direct award without prior publication, was finalised on 11th December 2024, with the contract commencing on 1st April 2024 and concluding on 31st March 2029. This tender did not involve a competitive process as it fell outside standard directive applications and was necessary to integrate diagnostic testing across care pathways effectively.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical imaging services, especially those equipped to manage diagnostic tests with high clinical accuracy and efficiency. Companies like Diagnostic Ultrasound Services, the selected supplier, will benefit from steady demand over the contract's five-year duration. This contract promises growth for small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) that can ensure delivery of high-quality, timely ultrasound services while supporting community healthcare and reducing pressure on acute trusts in the Sussex region.
