Summary of the contracting process

The Rainbow Multi Academy Trust is seeking a suitably experienced contractor to provide comprehensive cleaning services for 13 primary schools across Cornwall, including locations in St Austell, Truro, Camborne, Wadebridge, St Ives, Helston, and Veryan. The contract is scheduled to start on 1 September 2025 and end on 31 August 2030. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage, with submissions due by 21 February 2025. This restricted procedure allows for a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 suppliers to be taken forward to the tender stage based on their scores. The successful supplier will be responsible for both term time and non-term time cleaning services, ensuring a clean and functional learning environment at all times.

This tender presents a significant business opportunity for companies with experience in the education sector, particularly those with a strong operational base in the South West region. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to apply. The contract's scope includes daily and periodic cleaning services, and suppliers will need to demonstrate proactive contract management and frequent site visits. Additionally, there is potential for future school additions to the Trust, offering further growth opportunities for the successful contractor. Businesses well-suited for this opportunity include those experienced in large-scale educational cleaning services and capable of providing flexible and adaptive support to meet the contract requirements.
