Summary of the contracting process

Nottingham City Council has successfully completed a tender for the "Warm Homes Local Grant Delivery" project, aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of privately-owned homes within Nottingham. The contract, valued at £6,036,125, was signed on 7th April 2026 and awarded to Yorkshire Energy Services CIC T/A YES Energy Solutions. This procurement falls under the "works" category in the construction industry, specifically dealing with construction work for multi-dwelling buildings and individual houses. The project, part of a wider initiative funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, uses a "fabric first" approach to retrofit homes with energy-efficient measures. These include the installation of external and internal wall insulation, renewable energy systems like Solar PV Panels, and low carbon heating systems. The procurement method employed was a restricted procedure under the selective category, ensuring that only suitably qualified suppliers could participate.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in construction work and energy efficiency upgrades. Companies involved in designing, supplying, and installing energy-efficient equipment can benefit from increased demand and apply their expertise to retrofit privately owned domestic properties. The focus on sustainability and improving energy efficiency aligns with contemporary environmental goals, making it an ideal venture for businesses that are moving towards green solutions. Such contracts are particularly attractive for SMEs, like Yorkshire Energy Services, seeking to strengthen their market presence in the construction and environmental improvement sectors while contributing to national net-zero objectives.
