Summary of the contracting process

The Gallery Trust, located in Oxford, is seeking tenders for the provision of comprehensive catering services across four of their schools, which focus on supporting young people with special needs and disabilities. This procurement process, categorized under school catering services (CPV code 55524000), involves a selective, restricted procedure. The service includes daily catering provision ensuring morning breaks and full lunches at several schools including Bloxham Grove Academy and Northern House Academy. The total estimated contract value is £750,347.57 with an initial term of three years and options for two annual extensions. The process has moved from the tender stage to the award stage, with the contract signed by Stir Food Ltd on 12th July 2025.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specializing in educational catering, particularly those with expertise in servicing schools with special needs facilities. Companies that can deliver high-quality, reliable food services stand to benefit from this multi-year engagement. The procurement process was competitive with space for SMEs, as seen by the participation of Stir Food Ltd, an SME, winning the contract. This indicates a favourable climate for small to medium-sized enterprises within the industry who are equipped to meet the specific contractual criteria and adapt to classroom dining scenarios, such as at Northern House Academy, which can result in stable business growth through extended engagement with educational institutions like The Gallery Trust.
