Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process led by Kirklees Council, in collaboration with the Greater Huddersfield Clinical Commissioning Group and North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Group, aimed to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of domiciliary care services from October to December 2024 in Kirklees (region UKE44). This procurement, categorized under Health and social work services (CPV code 85000000), was conducted via a Restricted Procedure as specified by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The awards, dated 31 December 2024, mark the completion of this tender stage.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for business growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in health and social care services. The procurement sought providers with expertise in delivering person-centred domiciliary care to adults aged 18 and over, catering to various needs including those associated with older age, sensory impairment, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental illness. Businesses that can provide quality and reliable care services to support individuals in their homes could find this suitable for expansion and establishing a foothold in the regional care market.

Notice Description

Kirklees Council, in conjunction with the Greater Huddersfield Clinical Commissioning Group and North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Group, has established a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of domiciliary care services. The purpose of the procurement exercise is to seek and appoint providers to the DPS, who have the relevant skills and experience, for the delivery of personal care and support (domiciliary care) in service users homes.
