Summary of the contracting process

The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has issued an intention to award notice under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) for the procurement of adult eating disorder (ED) in-patient services. This procurement process, initiated as a tender, involves the mobilisation of a 6-bed block that will transition to spot purchases starting April 2025. The contract, worth an estimated £3.65 million, covers services to be provided by Elysium Healthcare Limited, from September 2024 to March 2026. Key dates include the standstill period ending on 13 March 2025. The buying organisation is located in Worthing, UKJ2, and the procurement method follows a limited award procedure without prior advertisement.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those focusing on treatment for eating disorders. Elysium Healthcare’s comprehensive approach to care, combining evidence-based programmes and patient-centred services, exemplifies the level of expertise expected. Businesses with experience in providing specialised healthcare, especially for adults with complex needs such as mental illness, personality disorders, and eating disorders, would be well-suited to compete for similar future contracts. Engaging in this tender can enhance a business’s portfolio and expand its footprint within the healthcare sector.
