Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence is planning a procurement process involving a series of security briefings for industry partners, specifically focusing on Electronic warfare systems and countermeasures. This process, classified under the CPV code 35730000, falls within the 'goods' category. Initial notification was provided on 5 March 2025, with security briefings scheduled for 31 March 2025 at RAF High Wycombe auditorium. Further briefings will occur in June or July 2025, with exact dates to be confirmed. Potential providers interested in the 31 March briefing must express their interest by 14 March 2025. The procurement stage is currently in the 'planning' phase and aims to collect Expressions of Interest from potential suppliers.

This tender presents a unique opportunity for businesses, especially small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to engage with the Ministry of Defence and potentially influence future procurement activities. Companies specialising in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) technologies could benefit significantly from participating in these briefings. The procurement process is not yet a call for formal tender, but it offers critical insights and networking opportunities to build relationships with the Ministry of Defence and other industry stakeholders. Businesses with the necessary security clearances, or those able to obtain them, will find this an invaluable opportunity for strategic alignment and market positioning within the defence sector.
