Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is initiating a procurement process for the installation of approximately 75 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging sockets at its Low Hall Depot to support the electrification of its fleet vehicles. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a market engagement scheduled to gather information that will assist in the development of the project's specifications. Key details include the need for a range of charging capabilities from 7kW to 50kW+, compatible with RFID technology, and a robust billing process for departmental or contractor usage. Interested parties are required to submit their responses by 21 March 2025, and the contract period is anticipated to begin on 1 September 2025 and run through to 2030, with potential extensions up to 2033.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in the supply, installation, and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure. Companies with expertise in providing advanced charging solutions, particularly those that offer RFID-secured access and efficient billing systems, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The project offers a substantial business growth opportunity, given the scale and duration of the contract. Businesses capable of meeting the technical and operational requirements outlined by the London Borough of Waltham Forest will find this an excellent opportunity to establish or expand their presence in the growing market for electric vehicle infrastructure within the public sector.
