Summary of the contracting process

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is overseeing the procurement process for the "Covid Vaccination Outreach - York" project, classified under pharmacy services. The initiative aims to deliver Covid-19 vaccinations to hard-to-reach patient groups through a flexible outreach programme involving roving vaccination models and temporary pop-up sites in community locations like church halls and shopping centres in York. Recently, an update was issued on 19th March 2025, clarifying that no contract will be awarded based on commissioning responsibilities. This procurement follows the "Provider Selection Regime (PSR)" as mandated by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and the standstill period requires any provider representations to be submitted by 28th March 2025.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly in the healthcare services sector, to support the local community by enhancing public health outreach. Businesses experienced in delivering flexible, community-based healthcare services are well-suited to compete, leveraging their expertise to bridge gaps in vaccination access and mitigate health inequalities. As such, agile service providers adept at integration, collaboration, and service sustainability stand to benefit from participating in this procurement process. The ability to innovate while maintaining high-quality standards could also yield favourable considerations under the outlined award criteria.
