Summary of the contracting process

The Office for National Statistics, a central government authority based in Newport, United Kingdom, initiated a tender process for the facilitation of public engagement events. This contract involved seminar organisation services, covering regional stakeholder events in London, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Belfast, as part of their effort to harmonise the standards for sex and gender identity data collection. The procurement process followed a limited competition method below the threshold, with Human Capital Index Limited awarded the contract, which was active from 27th March to 31st May 2025, with the contract signed on 26th March. The contract reached completion with a gross value of £36,000.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in seminar organisation and event facilitation. Companies with expertise in managing stakeholder events and understanding data harmonisation principles would be well-suited to compete for similar contracts. SMEs in the services category, especially those familiar with public consultation and government statistical processes, can leverage such opportunities to grow their business by establishing themselves as reliable service providers to public authorities.
