Notice Description
Southwark Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced providers to enter into a contract for the provision of a Carer Service in Southwark. Unpaid carers are people who provide care for a friend, family member, or neighbour who has an illness, disability, mental health concern, or who is older and needs extra support. Unpaid carers do not receive any payment from the council or a private company for this caring role. The Carer Service will be located in Southwark and will offer a range of services for unpaid carers living in the borough. The Carer Service will aim to improve the wellbeing of unpaid carers, empower them in their caring role, and support them to access health and care services and other voluntary and community services that can offer support.

You will need to respond to the tender notice in order to be considered for these contracts. The purpose of this PPN is to maximise transparency and competition for the upcoming tender notice. All details in this PPN are subject to being updated or changed in the final tender notice. The PPN is being published to advertise a Preliminary Market Engagement. Over the coming months, Southwark Council will be developing a future service model for a Carer Centre for unpaid carers. Unpaid carers do not receive any payment from the council or a private company for this caring role. The new Carer Centre will be located in Southwark and will offer a range of services for unpaid carers living in the borough. Interested parties are to complete the enclosed questionnaire (appendix A) and submit it via the Pro-Contract portal at https://procontract.due-north.com, by 12pm on 23rd April 2025.
