Summary of the contracting process

The Victoria and Albert Museum, a prominent public authority in the United Kingdom, recently completed a contracting process to award a Soft Facilities Management (Soft FM) contract. This selective procurement utilised a competitive flexible procedure, encompassing services such as cleaning, waste management, and pest control, across its London and South East estate. The contract, identified as VA/CON/F25/02, was awarded on 1st July 2026 to TOTAL SUPPORT SERVICES LIMITED, with the contract period extending until 30th June 2031, and options for renewal. The procurement phase progressed through planned, tender, tender update, and award stages, coordinated in part by Mortice Consulting Limited.

This Soft FM contract presents significant avenues for business growth, particularly benefiting large enterprises specialising in comprehensive facilities management services. The procurement's scale and wide-ranging service requirements would best suit companies capable of delivering diverse logistical and support services efficiently. SMEs are encouraged to consider future procurements of this nature, as the existing lot division facilitates participation by splitting the requirements into smaller, more accessible segments in conjunction with its Hard FM counterpart. Thus, firms with a robust portfolio in janitorial, logistics, and environmental services would find the tender an appealing proposition for expanding their service offerings within the public sector.
