Summary of the contracting process

The Nursing and Midwifery Council established an approved supplier list for external research providers. The requirement covers market research services (CPV 79310000) delivered across the United Kingdom. It is divided into four areas: quantitative research, including statistical, analytical and modelling capability; qualitative research, including evidence reviews; evaluation work covering policy and education standards; and accessible and inclusive research, including trauma-informed approaches and work with seldom-heard groups. This is a services procurement for research organisations, consultancies, specialist evaluation providers and organisations with expertise in inclusive research. Each lot is identified as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary, community and social enterprises.

The procurement is complete and has been awarded through an accelerated open procedure. Contracts were signed on 30 March 2026, with contract delivery recorded from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029.
