Summary of the contracting process

Derbyshire County Council intends to commission a Placement Stability and Support service for children in care. The work is intended to support the stability and sufficiency of children’s care placements, through welfare services for children and young people. Delivery is planned in the East Midlands. The Council is seeking a provider to deliver the service, and the planned arrangement allows for delivery by one provider, a lead provider working with subcontractors, or a consortium or joint venture with a designated lead bidder. The service therefore concerns both the provision of placement support and the ability to organise an effective delivery partnership for children in care.

This procurement is at the planning stage: the Council has set out its intention to procure, but has not issued an invitation to tender. It expects to use a competitive flexible procedure. The planned procurement is a single lot. The Council’s indicative date for a future notice is 26 October 2026; this is an expected publication date, not a bid deadline.
