Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Business Services Authority, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, is currently planning a procurement process to secure specialist pension administration services. The procurement titled "McCloud RSS Administration for Practitioners and RPSS Administration" focuses on complex manual benefit calculations related to the NHS Pension Scheme members impacted by the McCloud Judgement. A virtual presentation, scheduled for 27th March 2026, will initiate market engagement, followed by individual discussions anticipated by 2nd April 2026. The tender is projected to be released on 11th May 2026, with the submission deadline set for 15th June 2026. This process is currently in the planning stage within the services category.

This procurement presents substantial business growth opportunities for companies specialising in pension fund management services. Businesses that offer expert services in complex pension calculations and administration will find this tender particularly relevant, especially those positioned to manage demanding manual calculations linked to NHS practitioners' pension schemes. Companies that are equipped to handle highly specialised fiscal services and possess the necessary expertise in pension schemes will be well-suited to compete. With contract values reaching up to £33.6 million, this procurement is ideal for firms looking to expand within the public sector, particularly SMEs, as such suitability requirements are noted.
