Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham (LBHF) recently concluded its procurement process for "Community Reablement & Home Care Services for Adults in Hammersmith & Fulham." Initially launched as an open procurement under the public authority's mandate, the process was designed to enhance community reablement and home care services. However, the procurement for these services was cancelled as of 15 June 2026, when the council recognized that the proposals did not meet their comprehensive requirements. The procurements covered services tailored for adults in the UKI33 region (Hammersmith & Fulham, London), under social work and rehabilitation service categories, with an indicative start date for contracts being 1 August 2026.

This procurement represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in adult social care and rehabilitation services designed to promote independence and minimise hospital admissions. Companies with expertise in delivering quality-focused, innovative, and responsive care solutions are ideal candidates for this opportunity, facilitated under a light-touch regulatory framework. The framework agreement, including a multi-lot approach with specialised roles, anticipates substantial participation, emphasizing flexibility and resilience in service delivery. Businesses registered with CQC within London or neighbouring boroughs are well-positioned to leverage this procurement to expand their footprint and service offerings within this strategic market. The revised tender, expected soon, will continue to reflect the need for high-quality services, potentially offering enhanced criteria and new opportunities for interested providers.
