Summary of the contracting process

Rotherham Borough Council is in the planning stage of a public procurement process for the "CQC Regulated Domiciliary Care" project. The procurement is aimed at sourcing quality and sustainable Home Care and Support Services, scheduled to run from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2031. A market engagement event is planned for 4th June 2025 at Rotherham Town Hall to review the existing Flexible Purchasing System. This procurement, classified under social work services, is focused on the Rotherham region and invites participation from organisations registered with the Care Quality Commission.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the home care and support sector, especially those specialising in services for individuals with diverse needs such as dementia, sensory impairments, and mental health challenges. Companies that are willing to engage with the council's future aims and ambitions for home care can benefit from long-term contracts and collaborations with local authorities. Firms that are experienced in delivering quality care services, particularly those that have previously engaged with public sector contracts, will be well-suited to compete in this procurement process. Engaging in the forthcoming market event will also allow businesses to contribute to shaping the procurement strategy.
