Hampshire County Council is initiating a procurement process with the title "Private Extra Care Housing Offer Market Engagement," aimed at enhancing health and social work services. This initiative falls under the category of services and is part of their 5-year Adults’ Health and Care Strategy (2023). As a sub-central government public authority, Hampshire County Council plans to engage the private retirement market and social housing sector, focusing on Extra Care housing for older adults in Hampshire, UKJ3 region. Currently, at the planning stage, the council has scheduled a market engagement event via MS Teams on 18th June 2025, with a questionnaire submission deadline of 13th June 2025. The entire contract period is set from 1st November 2025 to 31st October 2029, with the forthcoming notice expected on 1st July 2025. The estimated contract value is £1,000,000 GBP.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses in the private retirement housing sector and social housing providers. Companies capable of contributing to or managing Extra Care facilities, or those experienced in health and social services, will find this engagement particularly beneficial. There are potential avenues to contribute via nominations, leasing, or property acquisitions, facilitating a substantial enhancement in Hampshire's provision of Extra Care homes. Organisations supporting accommodation for younger individuals aged 16 to 21 are also encouraged to participate, expanding service offerings beyond standard age demographics. This engagement provides a platform for businesses to form strategic partnerships and widen their operational footprint within the Hampshire region.
