Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process led by Aster Group Limited, a public authority in the sub-central government sector, is currently at the planning stage, with the company seeking to engage with the market to shape their procurement strategy. Focused on communal cleaning and window cleaning services across their schemes in the South West and South East of England, including London, this initiative is designed to gather market insights and inform specifications. Potential suppliers are invited to participate in a pre-market engagement exercise, with completed forms due by 27th August 2026. This engagement aims to understand market capability, test procurement routes, and improve accessibility for SMEs and VCSEs, ahead of a tender with a total anticipated value of £21.6 million.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in cleaning services, particularly those capable of servicing large geographic areas across the UK. It is well-suited for SMEs and VCSEs looking to expand their service delivery scope into public sector contracts. The procurement presents an opportunity for innovative service solutions and commercial models that could potentially improve service quality and cost-efficiency. Aster Group's clear focus on regional coverage and the inclusion of feedback from recent resident surveys indicate a commitment to quality service delivery and responsive supplier engagement, which is advantageous for suppliers looking to establish long-term partnerships within the public sector framework.
