Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has successfully concluded the procurement process titled "Provision of Neurophysiology Services to Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre." This contract, awarded to Wimbledon Neurocare Ltd, involves the provision of up to 30 neurophysiology tests annually, potentially surging to 50 if needed. Conducted under an open competition, this below-threshold procurement falls under the medical hospital services category, with the contract status marked as complete. The contract period starts on 1 November 2025 and ends on 31 October 2030, with a possible two-year renewal. The contractual value stands at £101,800, and the supplier is required to adhere to cyber security controls specified by DEF Stan 05-138 due to high-risk classification.

This contract represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in neurophysiology and medical services, especially those equipped with the necessary cyber security capabilities. The MoD's procurement, focused on delivering tests like EEG, EMG, and visual and auditory evoked potentials, is particularly suited for suppliers experienced in handling electronic health records and capable of a quick response to appointment requests. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) could find significant growth opportunities by engaging with the MoD's framework agreements, which, although not guaranteeing business volume, provide a platform for extended collaboration with one of the UK's central government authorities.
