Summary of the contracting process

The Food Standards Agency, a central government authority located in York, United Kingdom, has completed its procurement process for a contract titled "FSA Meat Charging Discount Regime Research." This procurement falls under the services category and relates to research and development services. The process was conducted through an open competition below the threshold. The tender process commenced in June 2025, with submissions concluding by 7th July 2025. The awarded contract started on 25th August 2025 and is set to end on 31st January 2026, with a potential extension of up to four weeks. Riber Consultants Limited, based in Altrincham, was awarded the contract to provide these services.

The FSA's call for research provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in economic impact analysis, research, and consultancy services related to the meat supply chain. This open competition method encourages participation from a wide array of enterprises, including SMEs and larger organisations, to contribute critical insights necessary for policy development and impact assessment guidance as per HM Treasury's standards. Companies adept at addressing evidence gaps and evaluating economic implications in alignment with policy guidance are particularly well-suited to leverage this opportunity for growth and influence in the public sector.
