Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is initiated by The Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire, aiming to provide Generic Victim Services to support all adult victims of crime, including those affected by hate and antisocial behaviour crimes within Derbyshire. This falls under the 'services' category with a focus on social work and related services. The process is currently in the planning stage, and the contract is scheduled to run from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2029, with potential extensions up to 31st March 2032. A Request for Information (RFI) is underway to review service provision options, with a market engagement deadline set for 11th July 2025. An Open Tender process will be used, and a business case is being prepared to inform this procurement path.

This tender provides excellent growth opportunities for businesses involved in social work and related services, particularly those that cater to wide-ranging community support infrastructures. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) stand to benefit significantly from this opportunity due to the suitability criteria set for the tender lot. Companies with experience in delivering comprehensive victim services and those that aim to strengthen their presence in the public sector should consider engaging in this tender. The substantial budget of £2.5 million over the initial contract period highlights the opportunity for robust commercial engagement and service development.
