The Environment Agency has been developing the Hebden Bridge Flood Alleviation Scheme, which aims to increase the standard of protection to the town from all sources of flooding. Due to the constrained nature of the town, and the complex heritage and environmental aspects, together with the speed and depth of flooding, the interventions proposed are necessarily complex, but will provide an increased standard of protection to residents and commercial properties, and better protect the infrastructure of the town.
