Core Waste Collections
1. Core Waste Collections include: * General Waste * Dry Mixed Recyclables * Food Waste * Paper and Cardboard * Glass Waste * Green Waste
Renewal: extensions are renewalable annually
Hazardous and Chemical Waste (Laboratory)2. Hazardous, Chemical and Radioactive Waste includes: * Chemical Waste (solvents, liquids and solids, including persistant organic pollutants) * Biohazardous waste (inc. materials related to the Human Tissue Act, genetically modified materials and animal related materials) * Various laboratory filters (ie, air and water filters). * Radioactive waste * Glass (laboratory) * Plastics (laboratory) * Hazardous Waste (outside of waste streams already specified)

Supplementary/Special Waste Collections includes: * Wood Waste * Metal Waste * Hardcore * Workshop and Grounds Maintenance Waste * Batteries * Fluorescent Bulbs/LEDs * Aerosol/Pressurised containers * Paint and Varnishes * Non-specialist Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste * Refrigeration Equipment * Engine Oils and machinery lubricants * Confidential Wastepaper

Planning Information
Aston is beginning the pre-market engagement process in relation to it waste management requirements. These will either be packaged within an all inclusive contract, or split into several contracts. Aston is inviting responses to a formal Request For Information ('RFI') to obtain information from the market. This will help Aston to better understand the structure and capability of the market, as well as providing key insights that can be used to identify the most suitable route to market and ensure Aston's specification is fit for purpose. Please contact m.bowcott@aston.ac.uk to request a copy of this RFI. The response date for the RFI is 07th July 2025.
