Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), in partnership with NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB, is currently in the tender stage for the provision of Domiciliary Dental Care services across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, including Bassetlaw. This procurement opportunity falls under the services category, specifically classified as dental-practice services. It employs an open procurement method, with electronic submissions accepted via an eTendering system. Interested providers must register their interest by 10:00am on Thursday, 26th March 2026. The contract's services will commence from 1st December 2026 for a duration of five years, with an option to extend up to two additional years, potentially ending on 30th November 2033.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for suitably qualified dental care providers to expand their services within the health sector, especially for those specialising in community and domiciliary care. By participating, businesses can contribute to the improvement of oral health access for patients with mobile limitations due to various factors, offering vital services outside traditional dental clinic settings. Providers will need to demonstrate innovation, quality, and value, as well as their capability to facilitate service sustainability and improve health equity. Ideal contenders for this tender are those with established expertise in providing mobile dental services and an existing infrastructure capable of supporting the requirements outlined in the tender documentation. Businesses interested in this sector should consider the potential for a long-term engagement with NHS services, ensuring the quality and accessibility of dental care in these communities.
