Summary of the contracting process

Dacorum Borough Council is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process for a catering concession at Gadebridge Park in Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom. The procurement, titled "Gadebridge Park Cafe Concession - Preliminary Market Engagement", is aimed at re-procuring a cafe operator for this key locality. The industry category pertains to restaurant, food-serving, and beverage-serving services. This process, set in a high-footfall location, offers potential year-round community engagement. Key dates include a closing date for the submission of preliminary engagement questionnaires by 21 July 2025, followed by a more formal procurement process later in the year. Interested suppliers need to engage with the process through the 'Supply Hertfordshire' e-tendering portal.

This tender can significantly enhance growth opportunities for businesses in the food and beverage sector, particularly experienced and innovative providers capable of delivering quality and inclusive services. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, given the park's strong seasonal and community presence, which could lead to increased market exposure. Ideal candidates are expected to propose creative food and beverage concepts, explore commercial models like fixed rent or turnover share, and address community engagement strategies. Such opportunities could not only boost income generation but also establish operators as key contributors to the local economy and community well-being.
