Summary of the contracting process

The Howard Partnership Trust has conducted a tender for the provision of fixed price natural gas supply, titled "The Howard Partnership Trust – Gas Fixed Supply Products Oct 2025." The procurement process was handled through an open procedure as per the Procurement Act 2023, ensuring transparency and competitiveness. The contract, which has been awarded to Corona Energy, is set to commence on 1 October 2025 and includes an initial period of 36 months, with a potential extension for a maximum of four years. The procurement falls under the utilities category, with a total contract value of £1.92 million. Key stakeholders include Ginger Energy Limited, which managed the procurement process, representing the trust from its Birmingham office. All operations are located within the United Kingdom, specifically in the Effingham region.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the energy supply industry, particularly those specialising in natural gas. Such businesses are well-positioned to pursue contracts like this, particularly if they hold a GB supply license as required by Ofgem. Moreover, firms capable of demonstrating innovative service delivery and operational processes, aligned with the principles of transparency and value for money, will find themselves well-suited to compete in future opportunities of a similar nature. The presence of an open procurement method also indicates a level playing field, encouraging smaller enterprises and VCSEs to engage and potentially secure future contracts.
