Summary of the contracting process

Transport for London (TfL) has initiated a procurement process for the Design and Build project focused on replacing the Bostwick Gates at the Elizabeth line's Canary Wharf station. The procurement is set in the context of public authority central government, with a selective procurement method being employed below the threshold reference using a dynamic market. As the buying organisation, TfL is seeking qualified suppliers to engage in replacing faulty gates at key entrances with traditional Bostwick SR2 style gates. The procurement process is happening electronically via the SAP Ariba e-Tendering portal, with submissions to be made by 12th August 2025. The project will commence on 23rd September 2025 and is expected to conclude by 30th September 2026, with potential renewal if certain conditions are unmet.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the mechanical installations and construction sectors, particularly those with prior experience in Network Rail and London Underground infrastructures. Suppliers must be pre-qualified under the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) and exhibit expertise in specific Railway Industry Commodity Classification List (RICCL) codes, focusing on construction, design, installation, and supply of boundary gates and steel frames. Enterprises seeking to expand their portfolios in public infrastructure projects, specifically in the realm of railway enhancements, will find this tender conducive to growth and innovation, further supported by the technical and commercial assessment criteria that prioritise the most advantageous tender.
