Notice Information
Notice Title
Commercial Waste Disposal Contract
Notice Description
The Environmental Protection Act 1990 allows Chichester District Council (CDC), Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council (A&W) (collectively referred to as 'the Councils' in this document) to collect commercial waste from businesses and a charge to be levied for this service. The Councils business waste and recycling service is well established, has a good local reputation and has successfully expanded in recent years. The Councils have a duty to ensure all waste collected is properly disposed of and must therefore have a contract in place with a supplier to provide processing and disposal services. Planning Information
CDC and A&W are exploring options in respect of Commercial Waste Disposal Services, and are keen to engage with suppliers who can deliver these against the below waste types; • Mixed municipal waste – black bag waste (EWC code 20 03 01). • Biodegradable kitchen and canteen waste (EWC code 20 01 08). Additionally, the ability to deliver against further recycling streams such as co-mingled dry recycling, and paper and cardboard, would be of benefit. For information, the below waste types will not form part of this contract; • Clinical / medical waste. • Asbestos. • Hazardous waste. To achieve this aim, the Councils kindly ask interested Contractors to complete and submit a Market Engagement questionnaire. This questionnaire can be found here - Hampshire County Council Electronic Tendering Site - home. All answers provided will offer insight into how the market might consider this opportunity. Any information provided will be treated as confidential and non-binding but note it may be used to inform the final specification, brief and pricing document. The questionnaire on the In-Tend portal contains information in the form of supporting documents to support the completion of the questionnaire. If you require further clarity of information, please submit enquiries/questions via the In-tend portal link. All information required for completing the questionnaire is included in the document itself. Please only submit completed questionnaires via the In-Tend portal, as company literature or promotional material will not be considered. Please submit completed questionnaires via the link above. The deadline for submitting completed questionnaires is Thursday 24th July, 17:00.
