Summary of the contracting process

Liverpool City Council is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process focusing on preliminary market engagement for extra care schemes. The procurement is targeting the industry category of health and social work services and is scheduled within the UK region, UKD7. As part of this engagement, the Council aims to connect with current and potential providers of Extra Care settings that offer integrated care services. The goal is to understand operational models, service availability, and any challenges that could shape future commissioning. Interested parties are encouraged to engage by participating in the market engagement questionnaire via the Council's procurement portal by 13 August 2025.

This preliminary engagement represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in Extra Care services, particularly those equipped with on-site care teams. It provides an avenue for these providers to influence strategic planning and service alignment within Liverpool City Council's jurisdiction. While there is no competitive procurement process currently planned, this exercise offers an excellent opportunity for providers to showcase their operational capabilities and potentially guide future service provisions. Businesses that can demonstrate innovative solutions and adaptability in Extra Care settings will be well-placed to benefit from this procurement process.
