Summary of the contracting process

Gloucestershire County Council has awarded a contract to Agincare Homes Holdings Limited for delivering residential and nursing care services at the Council's estate, following a competitive tender process. This procurement, identified as a Light Touch Contract, was conducted under the Procurement Act 2023, using an open competitive flexible procedure. The contract, valued at £234 million GBP, encompasses health and social work services across Gloucestershire and will commence on 1st February 2026, lasting until 31st January 2031, with potential extensions up to 2040. The tender stage involved the submission of final tenders, with a milestone set for a contract signature by 1st October 2025.

This procurement opens opportunities for businesses engaged in health and social care services, particularly those with expertise in managing residential and nursing facilities. Large-scale service providers, such as Agincare Homes Holdings Limited, are evidently well-suited for this type of contract, which requires substantial service delivery across multiple facilities. Businesses positioned to provide innovative and sustainable care solutions under regulated frameworks are likely to find substantial growth and partnership prospects within contracts similar to this one managed by Gloucestershire County Council.
