Summary of the contracting process

The UK Space Agency (UKSA), a public authority under the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, is managing a procurement process for "Threat Led Penetration Testing - Black Team". The tender falls under the category of services, specifically within investigation and security services. This procurement is being conducted using a competitive flexible procedure through an open tender method. UKSA aims to engage a supplier to evaluate the physical security of various companies within the space industry by attempting real-world physical intrusions. This initiative, currently in the active tender stage, is critical for enhancing security resilience. The final date for bid submissions is 3rd November 2025, and the engagement covers locations across the UK. Contract values are expected to reach up to £240,000, incorporating both initial and optional extension periods. This procurement highlights key dates and timelines, including an enquiry period ending on 15th October 2025, and contract period setting between 28th November 2025 to 31st March 2026, with a possible extension until 2027.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in security services, particularly those adept at conducting physical security assessments and penetration testing. Companies capable of complex strategic planning, risk analysis, and having a robust understanding of UK security policies will be well-positioned to compete. The procurement process allows for participation through the Jaggaer eSourcing Portal, favouring suppliers who can demonstrate experience and innovation in delivering high-stakes security services. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are specifically noted as suitable for the opportunity. Successful involvement in this contract can lead to substantial growth, enhanced industry reputation, and future engagement opportunities with UKSA and the broader government sector.
