Notice Description
Purchasing community (mobility and medical) equipment to support individuals to enable them to live safely in their own home and to keep doing the things that matter to them. The type of equipment offered includes walking aids, bathing aids, special beds, and other things that may be useful to people after a hospital stay, or to enable them to remain at home rather than moving into a care home.
Procurement Information
The Council's previous contractor delivering an integrated community service has become insolvent. The Council was aware of the financial health of this contractor and had put in place measures to ensure continuity of service and was preparing to put in place a contingency plan. However, the companies insolvency has been a quicker process than anticipated, with only ten days notice, therefore, this direct award is urgently required in these extreme and unavoidable circumstances.
