Summary of the contracting process

NHS England – North West commissioned diabetic eye screening services under the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DESP). The requirement covers screening pathways delivered in line with National Service Specification 22, within the health and social care services category. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by midnight on 24 September 2025 (8 working days following publication of intention to award notice). This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR. A contract will not be awarded until after the 9th working day following standstill.
