Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board is in the planning stages for the "Equity in Action Service" contract, focusing on health services under the industry category of services. This initiative is designed to impact women’s health, mental health, and health inequalities in the Surrey Heartlands region, with a particular emphasis on ethnic minority communities. This procurement process is governed by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 rather than the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The selection is based on the most suitable provider method. The communication of this tender is expected on 1st November 2025, and services will target community engagement, outreach, and health promotion.

This procurement provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in community health services, outreach programmes, and culturally inclusive health education. Organisations with a strong presence in Surrey and established relationships with local communities could find this contract particularly beneficial. Suitable providers will need to demonstrate capabilities in delivering clinical and non-clinical services that focus on women's mental and physical health, including perinatal mental health counselling and education to prevent Type 2 diabetes. Businesses that can offer tailored health literacy and cultural competency training, as well as those facilitating cooperative and patient-centred health interventions, are ideal candidates for this contract.
