Summary of the contracting process

The Department of Health & Social Care has awarded a contract for the National HIV Programme 2026-2029 under an open and competitive flexible procedure. The awarded contract is to deliver services addressing HIV prevention across various regions in the United Kingdom, focusing on populations disproportionately affected by the virus. This programme aims to increase awareness, facilitate targeted testing, and reduce stigma associated with HIV. It involves collaboration with multi-sector organisations and is categorised under services, particularly within health and community action programmes. The contracting process is now at the award stage, having been signed on 4th February 2026, with the effective contract period starting from 1st April 2026 for a term of three years.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in health services, community action, advertising, and marketing. Given its focus on engaging with diverse communities and reducing healthcare inequities, businesses that specialise in community health outreach, advertising campaigns aimed at health education, and supply of testing kits are particularly well-suited to participate. Small and medium-sized enterprises, especially those possessing experience with vulnerable or underserved populations, may find this a strategic opportunity to expand their impact while collaborating within the public health sector.
