Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process initiated by The Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire is currently at the planning stage. This tender seeks to procure Structured Support Services, focusing on health and social work as well as other community services, within the Derbyshire region. Key stakeholders are being engaged through a market engagement notice, with the deadline for involvement set for 7th November 2025. The process, initiated on 17th October 2025, is part of a broader effort to assess current options for Structured Professional Support Services, aiming for an eventual compliant procurement pursuant to the Procurement Act 2023. The tender envisions a service period starting from 30th April 2026 to 29th April 2027, with potential renewals up to 2028.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the health, social work, and wellbeing sectors to engage with a public authority client. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) interested in delivering non-therapeutic support services for high-risk roles within Derbyshire Constabulary are particularly well-suited to compete. Engaging with this procurement process could allow such businesses to expand their operations, deepen their expertise in serving public sector clients, and foster growth by potentially establishing a significant client relationship with the Derbyshire Constabulary.
