Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board is in the planning stage to award a contract for the 'North Nottinghamshire End of Life Care Together Alliance Hub'. This procurement initiative is intended to establish an end-of-life care hub in North Nottinghamshire, focusing on integrating palliative services to support patients wishing to stay in their preferred place of care. Classified under the health services industry category, the process will follow the Most Suitable Provider approach as part of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) under the Health Care Services Regulations 2023. The procurement process commenced on 17th October 2025 and will maintain an active communication notice period up until 1st January 2026. The contract's estimated value stands at £4.8 million annually, amounting to £14.4 million over three years, with operations focused in the region designated as UKF15.

This opportunity presents considerable growth potential for businesses equipped to deliver comprehensive palliative and end-of-life care in community settings. Ideally suited for providers with a strong local presence, the contract seeks organisations capable of delivering face-to-face care for rapidly deteriorating patients, with a focus on integrating with existing healthcare infrastructures such as secondary and primary care services. Businesses well-suited for this contract should already provide home hospice services and have the capability to offer registered nurses and healthcare assistants. Furthermore, an alignment with NICE Guidance and capacity to mobilise community resources and volunteers will be instrumental in fulfilling the contract requirements, providing a platform for businesses to enhance their service offerings within the healthcare sector.
