Summary of the contracting process

UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) has initiated a tender process titled "UKRI-5278 Connecting People with Nature," which aims to design and deliver up to three projects engaging a broad range of audiences with nature. This procurement relates to the education and training services sector and is being conducted in Swindon, Wiltshire, United Kingdom. The opportunity is currently in the tender stage with significant dates including an enquiry deadline of 7th November 2025 and a submission deadline of 11th November 2025. The procurement method is an open competition under the category of services, with a total contract value of £135,000. Contract periods for each lot are expected to start on 26th November 2025 and end by 31st March 2026, with optional two-week extensions available. The primary legal basis for this procurement is UK legislation 2023/54.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly those experienced in delivering education and training services related to environmental engagement and sustainability. It underscores three themes: environmental security, green growth, and responsible innovation. Businesses that can contribute to predicting environmental changes, promoting climate change adaptation, and harnessing novel technologies are well-suited to participate, especially those classified as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) or voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). The procurement focuses not only on technical and quality aspects, which make up 70% of the award criteria, but also considers price, accounting for 30%. This balanced approach encourages high-quality submissions supporting sustainable public benefit, offering growth prospects for participating businesses.
