Summary of the contracting process

The Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, with support from the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, is inviting expressions of interest for a contract focused on providing resuscitation training. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, aiming to enhance training offerings across Birmingham and Solihull. The intended contract period is from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028, with a possible extension until 2029. The opportunity targets the provision of comprehensive resuscitation training—both on- and off-site, e-learning, and in classrooms—with the first deadline set for 18th November 2025 for expressions of interest. The contract, estimated at a value of £426,000, includes health and first-aid training services to meet national NHS and Resuscitation Council standards.

This opportunity represents potential business growth, particularly for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) focused on healthcare training. Businesses that specialise in delivering compliant resuscitation and emergency medical training services, ideally with experience in e-learning and classroom environments, will find this tender appealing. The training will cater to a diverse population within the healthcare service area, necessitating providers capable of managing both logistical and educational challenges across multiple regional sites.
