        "description": "Braintree District Council is seeking a reliable and efficient contractor who can ensure timely and correct delivery of each waste stream to the correct predesignated reprocessing facilities. There is a potential that such facilities change throughout the lifetime of this contract. The waste streams currently in scope of this contract are, dry mixed recycling, paper and card, garden waste, Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP's), general waste (including litter picking, fly tip litter, dog waste, wood for recycling and general waste skip and wood waste). The sale of the materials is out of scope of this contract. This tender is being issued in three Lots with either Lots 1 & 2 or Lot 3 being awarded. The decision about which of the Lots will be awarded is described in more detail in the Bidders Guidance provided. Bidders should note that changes brought around by the Simpler Recycling reforms will change the composition of the dry mixed recycling waste stream from 1 June 2026, involving glass, tetrapak, paper and card and therefore will affect tonnages and number of loads. Further detail about these changes is provided in the specification. The Total value (estimated) incl. VAT is PS2,100,000 and not PS4,200,000 as stated in this notice, due to the intention to only award either Lots 1 & 2 or Lot 3.
