Summary of the contracting process

Stafford Borough Council is inviting tenders for a Framework Agreement to provide Memorial Inspections and Repairs in Stafford, United Kingdom. This opportunity falls under the 'works' category and is associated with historical monument or memorial construction work. The procurement, divided into two lots namely Inspection and Repairs, and Remedial Works, aims to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards within local cemeteries. The entire process is being conducted through an open method below the threshold, indicating a competitive but fair opportunity for qualified participants. Interested parties should note the key deadlines, including the enquiry period ending on 1st December 2025, and the tender submission closing on 8th December 2025.

This tender offers substantial growth potential for businesses skilled in memorial construction and repair, particularly those with recognized credentials like NAMM or BRAMM accreditation. The structure of having a framework agreement, along with a clearly defined award criterion where price holds a significant weight, opens avenues for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) to secure work within government procurement. With the opportunity to renew contracts up to two years post the initial period ending in February 2028, it promises consistent work and the potential for businesses to fortify their presence within the public sector. Businesses need to comply with specific health and safety certifications and possess the necessary insurances to participate.
