Summary of the contracting process

Cheshire East Council is in the planning stage of a public procurement process for a framework titled "Construction Related Consultancy." Scheduled to commence on 30th November 2026, and potentially extend until 29th November 2030, this extensive framework will provide various construction-related professional services within the UK, particularly in the UK's North West region. These services are categorised into eight lots, including architectural, engineering, quantity surveying, and environmental consultancy services. The planned procurement method is a competitive flexible procedure with pre-market engagement conducted to refine processes prior to official tendering, with an anticipated minimum spend of £1.82 million and a maximum of £3.27 million over four years. Prospective suppliers should note the planned communication of further notice by 12th January 2026.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for firms specialising in architectural, engineering, and construction services to expand their business. SMEs are particularly encouraged, as suitability for such is explicitly considered in the tender's requirements. With its focus on construction-related consultancy, businesses that bring professional expertise, capacity, and flexibility to support the existing council services are poised to benefit. The framework’s emphasis on standardisation and knowledge sharing will appeal to businesses that thrive in collaborative environments and can deliver performance improvements in cost and quality. Furthermore, the participation of neighbouring authorities increases the potential client base broadened through potential call-off projects, amplifying growth opportunities for involved entities.
