Summary of the contracting process

The NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) for the Calderdale Roving and Vaccine Hesitancy/Health Inequalities Service. This service, classified under the General-practitioner services category, focuses on improving vaccine access and uptake among those aged 75 and over or with immunosuppression, particularly in areas demonstrating low vaccination rates. The contract, valued at £25,500, is effective from 1st November 2025 until 31st March 2026 and operates within the UKE44 region. The award follows a limited procurement procedure without prior publication due to extreme urgency, in compliance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

This service presents significant opportunities for businesses in the healthcare sector, especially those specialising in community health services and targeted outreach initiatives. Companies capable of providing tailored education, personalised outreach, and community engagement to improve vaccine uptake among vulnerable populations would be well-suited to compete in similar tenders. The contract emphasises addressing immediate health risks and expanding patient reach, which can bolster a company's profile and foster growth in public sector collaborations. Engaging with such initiatives helps businesses align with public health goals, enhancing both reach and reputation within the community health landscape.
