Summary of the contracting process

The NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board is in the planning stage of a public procurement process for a Health Inclusion Service in Wakefield, with the main procurement category being health services. The engagement aims to assess interest from qualified providers to deliver services to vulnerable populations such as refugees, the homeless, and Roma communities, aiming to improve access to health care. Providers interested in this opportunity should express their interest by 28 November 2025, with the anticipated service commencement date being 1 July 2026. This initiative focuses on health inclusion, addressing immediate needs, and supporting vulnerable groups to engage with mainstream health services within the Wakefield district.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the health sector to expand their services and engagement with public health contracts. Companies with experience in delivering comprehensive health services to socially disadvantaged groups are well-positioned to benefit. These services include improving healthcare access, enhancing patient experience, and effective service user engagement. Additionally, businesses equipped to provide culturally competent and trauma-informed care, in collaboration with voluntary and social enterprise sectors, would be ideal candidates. Successful engagement could enhance the service providers' reputation in delivering integrated care models, potentially leading to more public procurement opportunities.
