Summary of the contracting process

Sunderland City Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Off Site BNG Units," focusing on environmental services within the UKC23 region of Sunderland, United Kingdom. The process aims to acquire Biodiversity Net Gain units to fulfil planning conditions by April 2026. Businesses interested must engage in a preliminary market engagement questionnaire due by 12th December 2025, followed by a future notice date on 15th December 2025, as part of the preparations to ensure compliance and facilitate competitive bidding.

This tender presents a substantial business growth opportunity for service providers specialising in land rental and management services, specifically those registered with Natural England. Companies capable of offering biodiversity solutions and habitat management will find this process notably advantageous. By engaging early, attending the market questionnaire, and registering on the necessary platforms, businesses not only gain access to a significant contract but also position themselves for future opportunities within Sunderland's ecological and environmental planning initiatives.
